When your dog is not coming to you, it is not the same thing as running away from you. They are just looking for something fun or exciting to engage with.

You have to compete directly with the fun or exciting thing your dog is doing. How do you compete with the interesting thing they are engaged in?

1. Be fun and make fun noise 
2. Continue being fun and making fun noise
3. Don’t stop until they get to you
